Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!
So I finally got some time in with the S10 and HMD 9 today.
Both phones remind me of LG's V series ironically in different ways. Th S10 has this lightweight feel that's really reminiscent of the V30/V40. It is well designed and the ergonomics again has a V30/V40 feel. The screen is very nice and punch hole is a bit more tolerable for me than on the S10E. I'm not a fan visually of the One UI look. I see that Samsung also used some icons to switch between all three lens that are reminiscent of the ones LG uses to change between its cameras in the app.
I can see why lots of people like the S10E, but it's not for me. Just don't like the look and in hand feel at all.
As for the HMD/Nokia 9, it's impressive that for me it's a mix between a 1020 and a V30. I appreciate the design choice for the G7/V40 in terms of how narrow it is. The S10 is in between the V40 and V35, width wise. It wasn't as slightly narrow as the S8 & S9 series. The Nokia 9 does have a lightweight feel, reminiscent of the V30/V35/V40 and width wise, it's very similar to those V series models.
The screen is really, really nice. That impressed me a ton. The color of the phone is similar to the one Huawei used for their blue on the Mate 10 Pro. Not a fan of Pie navigation.
I'm concerned about the battery and the non video audio quality. It may need some software updates to shorten the processing time to save pictures and the fingerprint sensor. But it is interesting enough to use for me. Just needs to be cheaper.
