WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Sure enough the new 9.1 update is there via OTA. I'm going to check the G7+, but I'm not holding out hope - even though I can manually flash it.
Guess I'm going 2/2 tonight as it looks like the 9.0 OTA may be picked up by the G7+. We will see.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'll take your word for that but it does sound very dysfunctional for major things to keep breaking.
It's just what it is. In an age where we get ****ty software support from tech companies and we have ****ty leaders in government, cannot expect anything to run smoothly, really.

So I got pie on it... And it broke my settings app. Who has a broken settings app, which is a system app? Lol.

I think that since the V20 onwards, LG has done a nice job with in hand feel for its current design. Yes, it is getting stale, but I like what they did to transition to the G6. I really loved the in hand feel of the V30, hence why I own a V35. Having picked up the G7+, I do enjoy the narrow step up can can use a V40/G8/V50.

Now, if they make the next jump next year software wise with the G9, that could be something good. But since this is LG, not holding any breath there.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So just a quick note on politics in the UK.

As you know BoJo as he's known is setting up his government now by getting his ministers in place.

He's chosen a person who voted against EU citizens rights, is anti LGBTQ and believes in the death penalty... As the home secretary. The person who deals with immigration and policing...

This is the role Teresa May was in before becoming PM. Who also brought in a lot of horrible policies.

I'm so glad I left the UK when I did. This is going to be **** show.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So it's official.

The UK is now officially run by the far right arm of the Tory party. The cabinet that BoJo put together is top heavy far right full on Brexiters.

Obviously done for election purposes and hopefully to push through Brexit 'no matter what'.

He even made the undertaker, sorry, Rees Mogg (yeah that doesn't sound much better), head of the house of commons.

Should be an interesting few months...

Have I mentioned I hate Rupert Murdoch? Probably the worst human on the planet and his son doesn't appear much better.

BoJo? Really?

Maybe Bobo the clown, but that likely is an insult to Mr. Chester Barnett.

Bozo the clown?

Nah, let's not insult the legacy of Frank Avruch.

ScarJo?

Nah, let's not do that to the soon to be Mrs. Colin Jost.

Either way, this seems like a really comedy of bad errors about to befall the Brits.

BoJo is short for Boris Johnson... But yes, the clown reference usually comes along with it...

Because of the sad state of UK democracy, technically he shouldn't be PM because he doesn't have a majority.

Also, if there were an election he'd lose. His popularity is party only. His not becoming PM when TM did really messed his chances. His popularity with the general populace is significantly lower than TM now.

Then there's the Brexit Party. A party that has threatened to run if an election is announced. This is part of the reason why the Tory party is the way it is. If they don't get Brexit over the line by Oct 31st the Tory party is, for lack of a better term, toast. The will be out of government for the next decade at least.

So BoJo can clown around all he wants but people want results but going by what's been said so far the finger pointing is already starting. It's the EU's fault for everything of course...

Don't know if I posted this one already but something a bit more light hearted.

From what I've seen, no plan will be effective. He's just got to make the best of the turds he has to work with.

Can he do that? Doesn't look like it, but we will see.

You forget it's the turds they created...

They voted to leave. Based on an advisory referendum and using a minor majority to 'win' because it was stated it was advisory and a 'majority (60% or more)' vote wasn't required. Leaving is apparently the 'will of the people' who was about 1/3 of the voting population. The ~3 million EU residents were not allowed to vote.

They created the red lines that creates the 'stumbling blocks' in the negotiations. Not the EU. The EU is trying their best to work within the less than ideal position the UK put itself into.

They 'forgot' about Ireland when the referendum ran because the referendum was always about the Tory infighting and nothing do with anything else. The EU will look after Ireland, it appears the UK doesn't really care about NI.

The current agreement, which has been voted down three times, was the best they could come up with because of the UK red lines. The one that has to move is the UK, not the EU.

With the cabinet stacked with Brexiters the desire to get Brexit over and done with by Oct 31st is high on their agenda. However, there's a chance a general election could be called.

So, what will happen? Who knows? There's some saying BoJo might be able to persuade his party to be more flexible and get away with it unlike TM. Not sure.

It's a 'watch this space' situation. There's a good chance that a new another PM could be in power in 3 months... from a different party.

This whole thing is a complete and utter joke to watch. Especially when you know what's going on and can sit outside it. The EU negotiators and leaders are just shaking their heads.

In other news...

It's official. Record broken. Hottest day ever.

I remember that they boxed themselves in.

I think that the current crop of privileged have always felt that they will remain on top. Things are changing where it getting harder to exercise that same privilege with the same level of effectiveness as before.

I'm just saddened by where things are potentially headed globally. It's almost a lost cluster**** here, really.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Some road trip snaps.
The journey goes through the Crocker Range mountains, picturesque paddy fields. I last travelled through here 18 months ago.
Unfortunate the heavy lumber lorries plough the same road. It sad to see the deteoration due to overloading, much of the road surface is damaged, potholes, erosion. etc, I was using a Honda City, and it was bloody terrible drive, even dangerous along those damaged sections of the highway.

Ray, did you ever look through the "what we look like thread"?

You may have to dig, but I think all regulars posted their photos there.
