Bubble Light!
Nokia Lumia 928
Lumia Camera App
I manually pulled the brightness way down while focusing so the light wouldn't blow out the photo. It was then sharpened slightly using Lumia Creative Studio
Every year since I finished college, I've been making Social Media e-Cards using a current holiday self portrait (note I don't call it a selfie :winktongue: ). It's either a serious or a goofy shot, whatever I felt snapping at that time. I left my trusty DSLR the last time I flew back home, in 2012. So for 2013 I only had my Nokia Lumia 810... It took me a few dozen tries, apart from taking apart two floor lamps, pinning a lantern socket-cord assembly to the wall and a couple of bed sheets to try out before going with the bare wall to get this shot (Obviously I don't have a studio). I had it tweaked a bit with Pictures Lab before downloading it to my laptop to erase the lantern's electric cord with Photoshop and a little bit of color tweaking, then uploading it again for further processing with Pictures Lab.
The star lantern is an important symbol of Christmas in Filipino culture, that's why I chose it for this holiday photo. This year, I still have my trusty 810 for another faux studio photoshoot for my latest holiday e-card.
This one below is the cropped pre-photoshop version:
This are the first gingerbread cookies made with my 2 year daughter. I can say that they are 100% handmade, even the cookie cutter was made by us (3D printed).
My holiday this week. Shot with my Lumia 920 using Lumia Camera, with ISO set to 100, and WB set to sunlight. No edit, and the location is included in the metadata anyway. (I'll let you guys figure it out yourself.) Quite sad seeing it in this bad condition really.
WINTER SOLSTICE
Every year the shorter days during the (northern hemisphere) holiday season call me to quiet down and go a little deeper. It somehow makes the social celebrations and family connections more precious. This photo was taken in a moment of solitude after a backcountry ski run tonight.
Lumia Icon using Nokia camera app, cropped slightly, and edited in Lumia Creative Studio to try to evoke the feeling of wonder, beauty, and possibility of the holiday season.
Lumia 1520. Lumia Camera Classic. No post shot edit.
Taken on Thanksgiving day. This is my first deep fried turkey. Man it came out good. Everybody raved how moist it was. Just full turkey flavor. They say a picture is worth a thousand bites, but I disagree; even though the pic looks edible I'd rather have that bird again.
Took this picture of the Christmas tree in my local mall. All settings were on auto. It was taken with my HTC M8. Did minor tweaks on PhotoShop express.
