Weird or ccorrupt 1020 startup

Once in a while, when I get up in the morning, I like to restart my phones. I believe it helps the phone perform better by turning off any rogue background apps and help with battery life. From day one I've noticed my 1020 doesn't startup or turn on very well. When I turn off the phone I get the usual "Goodbye" screen. Then when I go to turn on the phone I don't get the normal splash screen: ATT then Nokia logo. All I get is a blank screen with the back, home, and search buttons lit up. Most times, it will get to the lock screen and I can use it as normal. Sometimes, I have to do the soft reset key combo: down volume, power and camera. When I do that, the phone starts up properly with the expected splash screen logos, but only when I do key combo.

Is this something I should worry about. I mean, the phone does work fine once I get past startup. Or do you guys think I should try a hard reset now?

Unless it's really bothering you, as long as it's starting I wouldn't worry too much. If the instances of the soft reset start occurring more frequently, then you might look into the hard reset. But it's your phone, if you want to hard reset it now, go for it.

I guess it bothers me when something doesn't work as it should. I feel like it could be a symptom for a bigger problem. I guess I'll end up doing a hard reset.

Wondering if anyone else experienced this.

is it possible to get the phone off contract at Microsoft store without opening an ATT account?

Welps... seems like the hard reset just bricked my phone... I just made it worse... sigh... :(

Yeh, my bad. I thought I was typing in the right thread. Hopefully when I buy one I wont have weird issues at startups :)

Sorry to hear that ninja. Next time I say to go for it, ignore me!

Not your fault in any way! Just got back from the ATT store and they replaced it with a new device. Everything is back to normal :)

I'm just glad it happened before the 14 day return period (yes, its no longer 30 days) or they might have given me a hard time.
