I just dropped my 640 into the cat water dish. Completely submerged. Took it out, dried it off, and it seems to work just fine. Took the back off and there was only a little bit of water inside by the speaker. We'll see if it keeps working.

I would highly suggest turning out off, remove battery, and put in rice for 24 hours.

I would highly suggest turning out off, remove battery, and put in rice for 24 hours.

+1. Or after removing the battery dry it with hairdryer for 20-30min.

I fell in the pond with my 635..phone underwater 20 seconds while I climbed out. Took apart and it was bone dry inside...still works great . Now its my backup as I just got a 640
