what do i do about my screen

well ive had my lumia 535 for a few months now, and all of a sudden i tap to open my music and the screen went completely black apart from the bar at the top and at the bottom,i can still use my pin to unlock the phone but my homepage is not appearing, what do i do?!?

Try a soft reset first and if that doesn't work go for a hard reset
