What has happened to my screen? 'Ink Spots' growing on Lumia 950 Screen

I have an AT&T Lumia 950, purchased it in December. About three days ago, I noticed a couple of small purple spots on the screen. At the time, I thougt they were drops of something on the screen. They weren't.

Over the last 72 hours, they've grown considerably. I've already visited AT&T and a warranty replacement is on the way - but I'm curious about what happened, and if there is anything I could have done to prevent it.

Another view, using the camera to have a clean white background to show off the spots. The large spot in the lower center of the screen has just developed over the last 24 hours. Started as a faint yellow-ish area, now it is getting quite dark.

looks like the digitizer has gone bad. Not sure there is anything you could have done to prevent it. That large spot almost looks like a fingerprint. Very odd...

Wow, that's really weird. Was your phone exposed to extreme heat, water, or anything unusual?

oled bleeding. bad oled panel. its not heat. lumia 950 survived the lighter test.
