What problems do you hope WP8 fixes in WP7?

I'm sorry that I have to pop in here and point out:

Shouldn't the thread title correctly be "What problems of WP7 do you hope WP8 fixes?" or am I mistaken? :P

Sorry again, english is not my native language and so I strive to be as good as I can be in it so I need to know this little detail :D

Thanks!

Or changing "in" to "from".

Yours is easier to say instantly understand though.

Your english is probably better than 50% of the native english speakers in the USA.

A few annoyances I hope they fix:

- They dreaded text cursor is barely usable

- The ability to have the battery status visible at all times, since smart phones have crap batteries and I want to know how much is left at all times.

- The ability to access photos (and all content) even when my phone is plugged to my laptop. I have to unplug it to see my content, even when it's not syncing??? Makes charging the phone from my laptop a pain in the butt sometimes...

- True multitasking. The app switching in it's current state is far from convenient or logical. The ability to close apps from long-pressing the back button. The ability to resume the app from the app menu or start menu, and not just the back button.

- IE should have the ability to open tabs and let them load in the background. Just the way I browse the web on desktop computers.

- The ability to fully customise ring tones for all apps. My whatsapp alert tone is barely audible and the same as my emails. Why can't I switch vibrate on or off from the volume rocker shortcut? I have to have settings pinned on the start screen solely for this reason...

- Copy/paste phone numbers to the dialer. Should be an obvious feature!

- The ability search the contents of the phone, since it's THE core function of the desktop version as well.

These are all good ideas, but I have a few comments...

-- Yes, the text cursor positioning is extremely difficult for me as well.

-- I'd settle for being able to pin the Battery Saver control panel as a small live tile. I think that would be more useful than the indicator at the top.

-- Totally agree... I want to use it more as a storage device than having Zune sync, but even more I want true SkyDrive sync so I don't have to plug it in at all.

-- I'm not opposed if they make it more flexible/advanced, but frankly I don't think it's a big deal to average users. Even as an advanced user, I literally almost never multitask and "back button" my way home all the time. It could be why I'm still at 60% battery life at 10PM when I put it back on the charger for the night.

-- That would be nice, but it would require an easier way to switch tabs... maybe I'm just not familiar, but I want a simple gesture to switch/close tabs.

-- I expect ringtone/alert improvements across the board to actually happen based on existing information that's available.

-- I'd actually prefer smart dialing by name/number, since phone numbers are clickable everywhere else in the OS.

-- I expect this will actually happen.
