What tracks distance walked?

Which sensor on the Band 2 tracks distance walked?

I just went on a 2.6 mile walk in a place that I know has terrible GPS reception (the Loop in Chicago), and my distance walked for the day only went up about a mile. I'm wondering if this is indicating some type of problem with my band, or if it's just the joys lack of GPS signal or what.

Think I may have figured this out on my own... if someone in the know could confirm that'd still be great.

I think that since I hadn't started an activity it was just using the pedometer. I think that since I was pushing a stroller and my arm wasn't swinging the pedometer recorded a lower than accurate value.

You are accurate and calibrated on that answer.

Yes. And until you do a walk with the GPS on and working, it won't have an accurate calibration of your stride length. So even if the step count was accurate, the distance can be off.
