What would you do if Windows Phone is discontinued ?

I'm a glass half empty kind of person when it comes to the chances of WP succeeding, and be hard pressed to recommend it to anyone at the moment. That said I don't think WP is going away within the next year. WP 9 is coming and they will give it some time in the market to see how it does, but if it doesn't gain traction I think that it will be the end of the road for WP. At this point Android or iOS have to screw up for WP to gain any significant market share.

Get a OnePlus One and a Lumia 1520. Use 1520 till its just unusable years down the road and stick to OnePlus One because it doesn't need to use google services :3

Android most likely a note 4. I might do Apple but their walled garden makes me think twice.

I would buy 100 HTC One for Windows. That is enough for the rest of my life.
Your life, your choice.

runs over , really??:D and how does it do that may I ask?

Yeah, true, it doesn't run over (a.k.a. on top of) anything. Just like WP8.1 doesn't run over WP8.0

Cyanogenmod is a replacement for OS+Firmware. Still, lets not get too distracted by that inaccuracy. It's not relevant to this topic.

I don't know. I'd probably go to Android but in my experience, you really have to get a top of the line device to have a decent experience with Android. Low end Android phones dont perform that well.

When Microsoft discontinued Windows Mobile 6.5 and announced Windows Phone 7, it was a good at least 12 - 15 months before WP7 phones started shipping, so I jumped to Android during then and I would probably do the same thing again.

With Microsoft's direction of Windows Universal Apps which will run on Windows 8.x and Windows Phone 8.x and the blending of these 2 platforms, I really don't think that we will to worry about some form of Windows on phones in the near future.

Not sleeping tonight because of this question..Thanks OP..you owe me one... LOL..Just kidding..

continue using my wps, then throw my nexus 5 and all my other androids, use symbian and blackberry till surface phone or meego(reborn)/jolla or ubuntu touch releases

Like asking what would I do if they quit selling tapes for the VCR. I switched to an existing technology. Either apple or android I suppose if they are still around. I lean Apple.

Microsoft has a very long history of supporting losing money items, till they become profitable. With that being said, only way MS would discontinue Windows Phone is if they were going an entire new direction. After all the APP related issues, there would be no way MS would go that route. Windows Phone will be here for a while....

With this being said, IF there was no choice, like a global agency told MS that they HAD to stop making and supporting Windows Phone(again, would never happen). I would use Windows Phone for 6mo to a year, then see what other options are coming down the pipe. I would try to find another option than Apple or google.....FIRST

Maybe I can get a Android custom rom that does not need google besides the store...? Phones are nice, its' google I hate...

Go back to my titan 7.8 custom ROM, at least I will be able to enjoy a bug free music experience!

Posted via the WPC App for Android!

Well, I definitely would not go the Apple way - so, I guess I'd have no choice but to go back to Android. But...let's hope that never has to happen...

Continue using my Windows Phone then switch to BB10 when it finally craps out on me.

My answer to this question used to be BlackBerry. Now that BlackBerry is pretty much non-existent... I'd probably run my current Windows Phone into the ground, then have to go Apple. And it would be a sad day... Really sad.
