What would you do if you found out you had to go to Apple HQ to meet with some senior folks and your main piece of tech is an SP3 and a Nokia 1520 Windows phone?

Is the Nokia phone the bright red glossy version? If so, based on the size and color of that phone i don't think they'll even see the SP3. Seriously how do you carry that giant slab of awesomeness around?

Depends what for. But I doubt that everyone who goes for meetings uses an iPhone. They'd probably be intrigued with a 1520, being used to phones the size of postage stamps. I'd probably take whatever I happened to have. I might even wipe the dust off my 520 and use it!

Hah... it is the bright red glossy one....

I would use them. Contrary to what the revisionist history Apple fan boys say, Apple and Microsoft get along fairly well.

I would proudly show off my BlackBerry Z30. They would droll over it wishing they could have the best phone on the market like I have. I would have my SP3 running multiple apps and be sure to move the 128 GB micro SD card from my phone to my Surface while downloading no DRM MP3s from Amazon.

In other words, show them what freedom of choice looks like.

LOL! Been in the same situation a few times. I went to Round Rock for a Dell meeting. I had my HP Tablet/Laptop. My Corp standard was Dell but I dumped it in favor of the HP tablet. Got lots of stares. Had one sales guy insist I put it away. I said fine but I flew from SLC for this meeting at your request so I can leave without presenting. Needless to say, I stood my ground and presented. As someone else pointed out - be YOU.

If you're going to be in the corporate waters then be a fish... when in Rome, do as the Romans do... iPad and iPhone.

LOL! Yes, by all means, be one of the Sheeple. I'm fairly confident that IPad/iPhone users put their toys away before walking into meetings at Redmond.

I wouldn't be confident at all about making that statement. Not everyone in Redmond uses Windows Phones. I've heard this from people on the inside.

Apologies, but my feeble attempt at sarcasm fell way short. But you are stating exactly what I meant to. It is presumptuous to assume that everyone uses an iPad/iPhone. The OP stated that his primary devices are Windows devices. Does Apple really expect that 'outsiders' must purchase new Apple devices and bring these to meetings just because they are going to corporate HQ? Certainly Windows (Redmond) doesn't.

Yeah... I wouldn't flash the MS devices, but I wouldn't be afraid to carry them in. Don't expect any of their software to work for you, though.

If acting like a sheeple (as if there is no such thing as Microsoft fanboys) helps close a deal then so be it... that would be the reason I'm there in the first place. :excited:

I'd whip this out first:

And while they were distracted I'd pull out my surface and start using it.

Wife just suggested I bring one of our first gen iPhones we have in the cabinet... that would be hilarious...

You could tell them that you love it so much that you couldn't bring yourself to upgrade it. LOL!

I don't see why what tech I am using (or not using) should matter. Of course, if I am an Apple employee, then the matter is slightly different - public demonstration of a commitment to the company and its products becomes something like a categorical imperative!

OTOH, I would baulk at hauling the N1520 under any circumstances. It's huge and, in my specific case, unnecessarily so.
