What's the deal with the NL 929 (5" 1520 specs)

What's going on here? I didn't expect to have the 929 announced at Nokia World. Heck, I didn't even expect it to be mentioned. But I at least expected WPCentral to mention it as it's supposed to be out at the end of this year... Or not.

WPCentral stated multiple times that it would be coming in 2013, early November to be exact: Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 coming in early November in Black and White, $500 off-contract | Windows Phone Central

So it seemed to be pretty well established that this phone was going to land sometime at the end of this year. Then Daniel Rubino tweets that we're not going to be seeing it until Q1 of 2014: https://twitter.com/Daniel_Rubino/status/392380022578638849

And that's that? There's got to be more to this that we're not hearing. What is the deal?
