WhatsApp doesn't start anymore - light blue tile

Hi,

I have a lumia 630. I use WhatsApp all the time and this morning I noticed a light blue WhatsApp tile on my start screen.
Pressing it resulted in... nothing.
I went to the apps clicked WhatsApp in the list and... nothing.
I can see that the tile is being pressed and then nothing happens! No error, no message, nothing. I've restarted my Phone several times.

No idea what's going on. Any help is greatly appreciated!
What are the consequences when I deinstall and install the app?
I'm 'owner' of several WhatsApp groups. What will happen with my message history? etc.

Uninstall and reinstall it

You'll get all your messages back as WhatsApp backups messages time to time .

Nothing will happen everything is backed up..

I've had almost the same issue, just that my WhatsApp tile turned dark. Not completely black, but the brightness of the tile was low. Happened multiple times but it always went back to normal.
