Today suddenly my whatsapp live tile and push notifications have stopped working. I receive the messages only if I manually open whatsapp. To resolve the issue I tried the follwoing steps : Blocked whatsapp from background task, un-pinned the live tile, then rebooted my phone, pinned the live tile again but all in vain.

Anyone else facing this issue?

I uninstalled and re-installed Whatsapp. Now its working properly.

Not sure what you read, but let me clear a common confusion.

Update 3 introduced custom notification tones. In this case, custom does not mean the user gets to change the notification tone, but that the app developer can use a tone other than the default one.

Seriously, got a new Lumia and WhatsApp seems to be very poorly done. It even lacks the default animations (when the screen is rotating, sending text, etc.) that were supposed to be very easy to implement in Windows Phone. Disappointed with WhatsApp, as WP is out for some time already.

guys on beta(build 402).. I hope we can choose what notification sound we want for messages ? it's not like the fb app that it's a fixed sound?
