WhatsApp taking 2 Gb Internal Space

My whatsapp is taking around 2 gb of my internal space. All My whatsapp media file is stored in memory card. I have to uninstall whatsapp to regain the 2 gb back. And again i install whatsapp after two weeks it consumes my 2 gb internal space. Every two weeks i have uninstall and reinstall whatsapp because of this issue. Can anyone provide a solution for this ?

i was also facing this same issue.. and this is the best known method till now in order to regain the used up space.
