when I click on the cortana button nothing happens

I have tried to reset Cortana by using the windows key + R, but still no response to either the button on the task bar or the Cortana tile. Any suggestions. It was working awhile back.

My task bar was working this morning and then it wasn't.Google is working but others aren't.
