Huh? What we Filipinos call "Summer" is March to May. No fair
Well, back on topic, I'd expect it when OTA Amber arrives.
Personally, I'm content with "just" bug fixes when we have Nokia delivering Symbian's pride and joy to WP (save for EKN2 and Qt).
That would be horrible if that were true.. summer is "generally" hot and miserable. I grew up in SoCal, I'd say I could peg the seasons personally. The house I grew up in also had no air conditioning, so I knew when it was actually summer, haha. Looking at the weather though, SoCal is still stuck in spring right now :winktongue:summer in Southern California is from January to December![]()
I think thats a major issue with WP. Microsot puts themselves in a chokehold when they announce time frames for update or app or what ever it is and they cant keep their word. Now that I know my wp7.8 which I forced on there won't be seeing any updates I dont stress about it. I think Microsoft should just say we are working on updates and every now and then say what they are working on and as they get closer to the release start giving dates and more info but only when they are 100% sure it will be released on that day. We all like to get updates on things we buy because it show that the company cares about its costumers but when a company cant keep their promises it makes you wonder if they know what they are doing

But they kept their words on windows 8. Heck, they shipped windows 8 7 months ago without a start button, after some complaint they will add it back on June 26 - see how efficient is that.
I'm not the slightest bit worried that GDR2 won't arrive on time. It's a tiny update, it MS could've slapped it together in a week.
What worries me more is that it is taking so long to get meaningful updates out the door. Look at how many changes the now excellent xbox music app has had on windows 8, not to mention all the improvements to the other windows 8 apps. We haven't seen a single update to the outdated and in some cases terrible (xbox music and complete lack of xbox video) WP8 apps. And we haven't seen the basic commonly requested features like independent volume controls, etc in 8 months since WP8's release. What's more there's nothing useful (apart from some basic hardware support) on the horizon til 8.1, which is set for a full 14+ months after WP8's release. It's like they have only a handful of people working on the WP team.
MS has to understand that the consumer's demands are insatiable..if they release 8.1 earlier the general acceptance of WP should increase..this means more interest from app developers..
Once there is a constant influx of apps, MS would have to face less heat and hatred from consumers..
I am sure they r working on it but unfortunately at a disastrous pace..i hope this slowness don't cost them many potential WP buyers n existing customers..
