Windows Central Question

FIFA 16 was supposed to be out on Windows store today but has not come on, apparently I have read that they will not release it.
Any answers or news you know?

Thanks

My understanding is that most apps/games are being delayed till windows mobile 10 is released officially. Even Rudy is releasing new universal 6tin app after official release. It doesn't make sense to release anything on windows 8.1 any more. Different API, stores are different as well. Too much support nightmares to support both.

If this is the case then they better release windows 10 very very soon!

So what your saying is that's either all of these apps that just came to WP are not going to work or that were not going to se anymore apps joining till w10? ....none at all?

Current apps will be working. Windows 10 is backwards compatible as most of the apps/games in the windows 10 store aren't true windows 10 apps. I'm just not sure if windows 8.1 devices can run true windows 10 apps. Not all devices will get Windows 10 so not sure if they will still maintain the windows 8.1 store. Or if windows 8.1 devices can still run apps specifically built for Windows 10. It's really a mystery how they will do it. Maybe the developer tools let you also publish your app as 8.1 for windows phone. And it just does all the work. We will see when it comes out.

I know I would not publish my apps/games to a build version of windows 10 mobile and risk the low ratings from all the people having issues that may be related to the build. Plus API calls may change among other things. We don't even have all the features in our build so how are developers supposed to take advantage of missing features? Just give it time. Oct 6 you will have more info.

Thank Steve personally. Microsoft decided to take a huge undertaking. You've never been on Windows 10 for 3 years. Now once everything is out and official if you are still not satisfied then by all means go elsewhere. But my guess is Windows 10 is going to change the app gap. Once it's fully released of course.

MS is making it so easy for developers. So less investment in money to make an app for windows. Now this means they can get revenue from it without putting in huge investment. Even if it's small revenue, it's still revenue they may not have seen. So why not?
