Is there any noticable speed difference?

Stragely yes even though it's another 512 mb device. I think it's the difference is the processor because the 8s is 1 GHz, dual core and the 635 is a Quad-core 1.2GHz. It's snapier.

The only downsides I've had after a week with it is the lack of flash for the camera, the lack of proximity sensor (the replacing technology that makes your screen shut off when half of it is covered works but not as well as a proximity sensor). But that's pretty much it.

And you can use 3 columns without it looking awkward like on the 8s.
