After a long run on Non-Windows Nokias since 1996:

Lumia 920 (Nov 2012 - Camera hardware failure in Jun 2013)
Lumia 920 (July 2013 - still going)
Lumia 1520 (Feb 2014 - Phantom taps after about 12 months and battery woes after about 18 months)
Lumia 640 (Feb 2016 - My son uses this as his daily driver)
Lumia 950 XL (Feb 2016 - I love this phone!)

Next stop...Surface Phone.

1520 and loved it until last last week. It all started 2 weeks ago when my mic stopped working especially with calls so was always on speaker. Then before i could take it in for a check, it just went into flight mode permanently, and despite reverting back and forth from W10P to WP8.1 and back thinking it was firmware related, it so happened that is the daughter motherboard that houses the mic and USB port plus flex cable that has issues. Its hard to find around here so i have to import one. Am without a phone right now.

I hope this will not happen to the new flag ship 950 & 950XL coz with 1520 after some time the flex where it bends, either gets cut or something thus affecting different areas of operation. So you have to replace both motherboard and flex which comes as one unit.

Is this a workmanship faulty??? i think so and MS should have recalled all 1520. WHY?? the phone is not flip i.e it never bends!!!!! so how does a flex cable inside the a sealed phone gets cut??? I cant remember my phone ever having a serious or heavy fall coz am always very careful with it......it cost me a leg and arm then when it was still a fresh flagship. Disappointed............very..............that s why i was saying i hop the new flagships dont have a similar cable and motherboard installed the same way.

Wish MS could check this issue and do something about it. So those with 1520 enjoy and have fun before this issue strikes because when it does, you will have no phone.

I'm very slow with my smartphone upgrades. So out of three I owned two were Windows phones:
Samsung i740 (WM6.1) — first smartphone I've ever had, really liked it until its physical buttons started to fail one by one
Lumia 640 Dual Sim LTE (currently on WP8.1) — this is my current one, went back to Windows after having enough of low-end Android phone hijinks with Samsung Galaxy Ace. I went with Lumia because I just love the design of the devices (Nokia/Microsoft Mobile bright style really rocks) and also because WP works much better on mid-range devices and is much more responsive than Android. Also, Metro UI is gorgeous. I adore it.

Next stop? I'll wait and see how W10M works out, but I'm definitely not upgrading soon.

My first was Lumia 928 on Verizon. Same for the wife. Bought my son a Lumia 635 on Cricket, but that lasted a short time as the service was not very good in our area. Broke the screen on my 928 after contract expired. Replaced it with a Lumia 735. Replaced my son's with a 735 and replaced my wife's with a 735 also.

Love the on-screen buttons (because I can swipe and hide them), but miss the dedicated camera button big time!

Gave the Lumia 920 to a family member because it did not work on Verizon's network. I got the 8X to replace it... but sadly it was left behind when Windows 10 Mobile came into the picture. Now I have the Lumia 735 which is a good mid-range (?) phone. I do hope for a premium Windows 10 Mobile device that is compatible with Verizon's network. That will likely be my next phone if one ever is created.

- Samsung Focus - was a nice cell screen super amoled 4.0" on 2011 with win 7, win 7.5 and win 7.8
- 2 Samsun Focus Flash - was good but poor reception and not G4 one for me other for my wife on 2012, since, my wife hate WP was no good phone
- Lumia 635 - I star to be a fan -> windows phone, but was no good screen but "Hey Cortana" was amazing for me.
- Lumia 640 - Good size screen "hey cortana" was good but slowly and screen poor
- Lumia ICON - Very nice screen, Fast, good LTE 4G, with WP 8.1 but terrible poor battery over wp 10 and NO "Hey Cortana" heavy an thick phone. GREAT Camera amazing slow motion video,
-Samsung Ativ Se - $135 new unloock on ebay, Work great, very good screen, very good camera, slow motion, VERY HARD UPGRADE to WP 10 (thanks to windows central for tuition) and yes! GREAT BATTERY over WP 10 ...Real run great over WP 10 SUPER AMOLED screen 5" NO "Hey Cortana" any suggestion will be great nice design no thick and no heavy.
My NEXT WP I have 2 option:

HP's Elite x3 ... the best ever but the price may be will be too high and

OnePlus 2 with a Windows 10 Mobile Rom ...is coming?

I Love WP because is very ease to use and have amazing "Metro Style" screen and " Hey Cortana " the future NOW.
