Samsung Focus - used off ebay for about $90 CDN if I remember correctly, my first smartphone. It was a bit dinged up, and the GPS never worked quite right but AMOLED screen was awesome despite some minor burn-in and the main phone features were fast, fluid and stable.
Nokia Lumia 520 - took advantage of my carrier's tab plan to get it ($150 CDN), relatives from overseas needed a phone to use locally so gave them the Focus and bought this to experience WP8, in many ways a downgrade from the Focus.
HTC 8X - bought used locally for $100 when it was barely over a year old. Awesome deal, huge upgrade from the 520, loved the speed and high-spec features. 16GB was limiting though, and the small battery meant it couldn't last a day in my normal use. Started having issues with the headphone jack and microUSB port. It ran hot enough that the nice purple rubbery coating started coming off to reveal the smooth plastic underneath. It took a tumble off a bunk bed and cracked the screen. Touchscreen still worked, but with the other issues I went back to the 520.
Lumia 635 - thought I lost the 520 and I was about to go on a 3700km drive back to visit my parents, had only about $15 left on my tab for the 520 so paid that off and renewed for this (520 was turned in at the lost and found at work so got it back after my vacation). Talk about a sidegrade from the 520, still no FFC and staying at only 512MB of ram killed this phone for me, could not wait to get something else and overall felt it was poor value selling at the same price as the 520 did over a year later.
Blu Win HD - MS Store Christmas sale price, 720p screen, FFC and 1GB ram got me in on this. The SD200's slower and less feature rich GPU that couldn't play all HD videos was a sore point, but otherwise was happy with it.
Blu Win HD LTE - bought used on ebay, wanted to see if the SD410 would be a noticeable performance increase, it did and finally got back to the performance of the 8X. The MicroSD card I had in it stopped working recently (I suspect it took a BB hit through my pants) and turned to:
Lumia 920 - bought used for $200 as a gift to my aunt. She was having issues with calls so this past Christmas I bought her a Zenfone 2 Laser instead of trying to troubleshoot. Turns out it just wasn't playing nice with the poorer reception and coverage of Wind Mobile. Installed W10m and started using it as my daily driver after the microSD card died on my Win HD LTE.
Lumia Icon - bought used on ebay ($200 CDN after shipping and fees) and just received it Friday. Have it all setup but haven't gotten a new NanoSIM yet to use as my daily driver. So far it is much faster than the 920 on W10m. Finally a return to AMOLED. Took the plunge after MWC when there was absolutely no mid-range ($200-350) W10m announcements (don't even try to insult me with the Lumia 650, no way I'm settling back to the dated Cortex-A7 core and 1GB of ram, if MS wanted a mid-range they should have taken a look at the
Zenfone 2 Laser ZE551KL I bought my Aunt for $260 this Christmas).
