Who do you dislike more, google or apple?

I don't trust Google, but I'm not being forced to use them, or pressured to join the cool users of them or other non-Windows products. I like Windows. Everyone else can eat poop.

Competition between google, apple and Microsoft will only make mobile phones better. So I do not hate one over the other. In fact I use the best devices and services of these all three.

Because the last few weeks I've seen nothing but self portraits on Fhotoroom, I can see where that app is going while EyeEm is full of serious photographers.

I'm ready to move on from Fhotoroom as well because of this. I mean, I am no photography snob (though I dabble more seriously than most average folks). And wouldn't dare tell people what kinds of pictures to take and post. But the abundance of self portraits is driving me nuts

If someone has been using an iPad for a couple of years and they like it, why would they bother to waste time considering anything else. What can be done on a Surface RT that can't be done on an iPad. Why should I switch ? (Other than Excel, yes Numbers is available for the iPad, but unless you're using simple spreadsheets, Numbers doesn't even come close. )

Many things really. iPad won't let you access the filesystem in any way (and share local data between apps) and also plugging in your flashdrive or harddrive and transferring data or using the device itself as easy data transfer device is impossible. The USB itself is a huge advantage (420 million supported devices is a mind blowing number - includes my happy mini-Coke-USB-fridge ). I can even hack it to support all ARM compiled desktop applications including the classic DOSBox and all classic games - amazing fun . But of the useful things - for example recently, I downloaded a czech subtitles for a movie and sadly they hadn't the correct encoding. So I just opened the file in notepad, changed it and there I went. On iPad, this would be quite a hard task.
Other things I like - access to other devices in my network, SmartGlass for music and video, and the unified design experience across desktop, phone and tablet. Finally there is also the Touch cover, which is very practical.

But I also know there are some downsides of Surface like performance, or Music playback stability.

Well considering this is being typed on an iPad, and my default search engine on all devices is Bing.....

But what I really dislike is that Nokia did an exclusive deal with AT&T for the 920.



Why do you feel Apple is hypocritical ?

use of a usb port which you can add an usb hub for more ports, I've done it. Microsd expansion which can also be used for apps if you know how to hack it. Built in kick stand which to the contrary of peoples thoughts is actually quite useful. Just to name a few reasons.

Google... because it's so hard to stop using their products. Google search is clean and easy to use. Bing... too convoluted.

I can't stand Android and think it's the worst OS of all the main ones out. That's where Google and Microsoft switch roles. Android being convoluted, while WP being clean, easy and a pleasure to use.

I like the Bing wallpapers and move backgrounds. I find it quite pleasing, not to mention the cool info I learn along the way. Plus I get search credits to redeem for stuff, and my searches are more relevant then what I get from Google. But again yea those are my points and my opinions.

Google. Apple might make "evil" moves sometimes, but Google pretends it doesn't. That said, I use many Google services and none of Apple's.

I don't really care about Apple, since they were the ones who made touchscreen smartphones popular. They were first to actually encourage developers to develop for their platform successfully. They were the ones who forced Microsoft, Nokia and RIM to innovate. They are the ones to actually stand up against the blatant patent thieves of the industry (Samsung), and win (once). Plus, they have had success under Steve Jobs. So, to a certain extent, I admire Apple.

As for Google, they can rot in a corner. If you hate Google, use Youtube all day with Adblock Plus, and don't click on the recommended links. Trust me
