Who Still Misses the 925?

I had only one chance to see it in person amd hold it in hand...it was pretty abused, sim tray was teared, windows button didn't had the light and sides was all scratched ( was going to buy for my brother, seller said it's amazing condition, and it was amazingly beaten), but man, that thing is beautiful. It looks wonderful. Lovely phone. I would buy myself one any time, if they din't had that 2000mAh battery on S4..damn, wonderful camera, nice display, even better than my 735's, still well performing, don't mind the 16GB, just if it had better battery life, I wouldn't hestiate to buy one. Really wonderful looking amd amazing feel in the hand.
Lucky to some some point, 830 continues that design, so I may pick one in near future...

Yeah the 830 does continue the same design but... It just doesn't do it for me as far as starkly topping the 925 overall as a device goes. Although I would choose the 830 for the bigger screen & improved Snapper.

It's a midrange device while the 925 is an old flagship, so i guess that's expected. If it had a much much better display and a more seamless back, then maybe just maybe would the 830 be a device I could see as a modern solution to 925 mourners. The "boxiness" of the 830 doesn't help either. The 925 was codenamed "catwalk" before being released for a reason. 830 is still great though, it's just not a modern 925.

The fact that MS has been unable to produce a phone as premium looking as the 925 in 3 years is pretty sad. I don't see Apple users longing for the design of the 4s

Keep in mind the 950 is the first flagship released under MS, and even that is a Nokia design. At least according to Daniel Rubino it is.

I'm not missing the 925 at all. It has been my daily phone for 2 years now. Running the latest variant of Windows 10 and it is amazing. I keep it in a very slim black case (w/ holster) so it is near mint. I'm eager for a new flagship but the price of the 950 is preventing me. The 925 was $189 on amazon...what a bargain.!! I bought it to replace an HTC 8X that was also beautiful in my opinion. Alas, the darn thing broke from carrying it in my front pocket.

My 925 rocks on, and Windows 10 looks and feels marvelous. I must admit, I expected the new flagships to look similar to the 925. I still think they are a very nice phone. And... Amazon still has them for around $250...still a bargain IMHO.

Still using my 925 that I bought brand new summer 2014. It's the 32gb special edition version from Vodafone uk so plenty of storage for my needs.

Still in "as new" condition as I use it with an Amzer gell case (learned the hard way by dropping my 920!) but don't use a screen protector on it.

For me the size sits much better than the 920 in my hand and to this date it's the best phone I've owned.
Oh haven't taken the plunge with Win 10 on the 925 yet (running 8.1 update 2) however I have win 10 on my 920.

Does the 920 run well? How's battery life?

Yes the 920 seems to run pretty well although the glance settings menu gas a bug and won't open so unable to set up the glance screen.
Can't really say how battery life is as I don't use it as my daily device.

I guess I'm the exception because I will not miss it. I am running Windows 10 on it right now, but battery life has always been mediocre and it can really heats up when web browsing. Compass always needs calibration- it always assumes north is south. Windows 10 is slow, and for some reason my 635 feels lightning fast on the same build (current).

Windows 10 runs real well on my 925. The earlier builds were horrible, but the current build is very quick and smooth and battery life is much improved.
Are you using bluetooth with Windows 10 on it? Recently upgraded mine and with bluetooth on the battery lasts half a day; off it lasts the whole day easily.

Still love the design and was disappointed that Microsoft didn't continue with it with the 950 series. Bought one for my dad as well and he loves it too.

Just bought a 925 brand new out right for $180. Don't see the need for a 950 when a 925 is so cheap. Great phone, very happy.

I generally don't keep bluetooth on full time on any of my phones because it's such a battery drain. I have since moved on to iPhone, but I will pull the old 925 out every once in a while and play around with it. It was such a cool design and still feels great in the hand - it just feels so premium. A true flagship and underappreciated.

It handles it very nicely, but it does seem like it struggles power wise. And I can double tap to wake. But I am liking the 950 better. Whenever I pick up my 925, it feels slow, heavy, small, and looks dark. I did not even think I would prefer this light, big phone, lol.

I used to own a 925. It's simply the most gorgeous Lumia to date in my opinion. It's the kind of phone that you can spend years and years with and never get tired of looking at. Although I like my 930 more, I do miss Glance screen sometimes. It looked awesome on that amoled display. It'd be nice if MS releases a "955"

Still rocking mine. Got it for $5 thanks to ATT having discount codes that increment up and are guessable... Going from a $5 925 to a $700 950xl all said and done is just not happening for me...

What happened to the 925 designer anyway? I feel like they could have easily made a phone with "surface DNA" did they get run over by a bus?

My bro has one, it's nice but I still preferred the Lumia 830 look. It was good for its time. Honestly love how the black 950xl like. It's like I'm holding this big screen with barely any bezel. But the little bezel that is there blends with the awesome oled screen. Gsmarena showed it's one of the best screens. Uses diamond matrix pentile which is the best available and less prone to issues. I disliked the pics but when I actually held it in person it was a huge difference. This phone is just not photogenic Hehe.

Rocking Win10 1068.29 on my 925. Bought it when it first came available, so almost had it 2.5 years. I've literally just ordered 950 XL from amazon, I'm thinking of keeping my 925 as a sort of Windows Insider phone and testing software/new features as Win10 develops, as the resell value of terrible!
