Who's getting the 640XL

I really wish they hasn't announced the XL as being available / launched in the UK alongside the regular 640 - it clearly needed another month to get stock out to retailers. I also noticed that CPW put up the price of the sim free 640 to ?129 so the saving is actually smaller now if anyone gets tired of waiting for the XL.

I've managed to hit refresh on MS UK enough to nab myself an orange XL (to replace the cyan one that had screen defects). Looking today, all colours are out of stock again but I just had an email from MS that the phone has shipped so I guess their stock levels are being shown realistically on the site.

I'll wait to buy it, probably in a few months they'll announce 645 & XL and 640's price will drop lol

I'm waiting until tomorrow afternoon to see if Unlocked Mobiles do get their stock. If not then I think I'll have to give up on saving the money and just go direct to MS when then get stock in.

I went to alzashop 168.00 xl LTE version x they only sell the black though mines in a white case so can't see the back anyway x

UK version has a single SIM ...so I ordered from MC France Lumia 640 XL LTE Cyan with Dual SIM for ? 180..waiting for delivery..unfortunately there is a supply problem worldwide, at the time of writing this post Lumia 640 XL LTE is not available anywhere in the world ( out of stock) or (will be available soon) messages you will get

alzashop sells it but it is not LTE (if you want different colours you can buy the back cover in different colours from ebay)

I was informed by a mobile shop owner that the reasons ,they want to get rid of old stocks , as more people want to try Microsoft phones, therefore can not meet the demand and greedy Microsoft want to keep the price high and also heard there are some issues with W10

Just get my Lumia 640 XL Dual Sim, the first ever phone more than 4.7 inch screen i ever have. Nice build quality and sleek!
Hope 640 XL will make me forget the Lumia 925.

I got my 640XL Dual Sim yesterday and it has been a breath of fresh air so far. I have a T-mobile line and a AT&T line and it's so worth it to be able to just have service for both in one phone. Instead of waiting on my carrier I just ordered it 2 days ago off of eBay for like $250 and think it's well worth it to have one factory made unlocked and not carrier branded. For me being in the U.S. I wouldn't be able to get a dual sim variant from a carrier here anyway and love all the bands it has being unlocked.

Thinking of replacing my 520 with 640XL, but is it worth paying about 250€. 640 is 179€ here but I like the 13mp camera on XL. Does the 5.7" screen feel too big or is it comfortable after getting used to it?

After 3 days of using XL, the other phones will look tiny
I had the same thoughts about larger phones but after trying 640XL I am not thinking of going back. Large screen is so much more comfortable for reading, watching videos, playing games etc. and only negative thing I can think of is the size  But that is somewhat expected...

Trying to decide between the 640 and 640XL, still don't understand why the 640XL does not have DTV while the regular 640 has O.o

I've had my XL for a couple of weeks now, I love it.

Battery life and camera are incredible, and the performance is pretty decent for a phone in this price range. Screen is impressive too, was a little worried about it considering it's 1280x720 at 5.7".

So I just bought mine on Ebay. Its an unlocked RM-1096 in orange. Its not branded LTE but the list of Bands on the phone shows LTE 1 1700/2400 so that should work with LTE for Tmobile (my carrier here in South Florida). I also reached out to MS and they said it should run on LTE, as well as with Tmobile. I will let you know more once I get in Monday and pop in the SIM. Very excited.

My RM 1096 works just fine on the TMo LTE. It does show as 4G for all highest connections.
