Why am I getting the error code 800700FF while upgrading 8.1 to 10 (Technical preview)?

Getting Code 800700FF while upgrading 8.1 to 10 (Technical preview)

Hello,

I have been trying to upgrade my Win 8.1 to Win 10 (Technical preview update) but all the three times when I downloaded 2.8GB of data, all I am getting is this error:

Error found:
Code 800700FF Windows update ran into a problem

Any suggestions what should I do?

You could try reporting the problem to Microsoft (I believe that was the purpose of the Technical Preview)

They just might have an answer.

You might have better luck downloading the ISO and use that for the upgrade, instead of trying to do it with Windows Update.
