Why am I unable to log in to skype?

Why am I unable to log in to skype using my laptop? It was working fine before. I left my laptop on and after 30 minutes when i came back its not responding anymore so i had to close it. now, It keeps saying "We can't open Skype. You are already signed in on this computer. Please log out and try again." I haven't even signed in as it wont let me to. What should I do?

I think Skype is down.
Or it was down earlier today for me.
