Unable to send mail with my Surface 3 on Windows 10

I bought a Surface 3 preinstalled with Windows 10. After configuring Outlook 2013 and Windows mail, both could receive emails but could not send mails. I read about running sfc/scannow in responses to similar problems. Can someone help on running sfc/scannow. How do I run it from the 'console'. Kindly help

Re: Unable to send mail with my Surface 3 on Windows 10

so you have problems sending from both outlook 2013 and windows mail?
that sounds like a strange problem, if it happened on both, it means it should be something else.

but in order to do the sfc /scannow
you press Win + X
and open Command Prompt with admin rights and then you type sfc /scannow when the black window appears. and let it do its job.

you can also search for cmd and run it as admin when it appears.

Right Click the window button.

From the menu select Command Prompt (Admin)

Allow this to run (click yes)

You will get a black and white does window

Type sfc /scannow and enter
(N.B. There are 2 letter N in scannow)

Wait 20 mins or so.

It will repair any corruption in system files.

Email should work fine after that.
