Why can't I download apps?

why cant i download apps?

i am new to windows 8.1 I have just made my new account and every time I want to download a app its says pending. I have been waiting for half hour and its still not installing. can you please tell me the reason why its doing this?

Do you have wi-fi connection? Maybe too large files?

Do you get any error messages? Did you ever downloaded something?
