Interesting, I don't suppose you can transfer the details to your new number?

You may need another phone, place in your old sim and then transfer?

on the FAQ you linked, said if I do both have new phone and new number, while, my thing is only having a new phone without new number because I use old number hence why I didn't use change number feature.

Yes, actually I can do restoring from my onedrive back up as also said by @anthonyng above mentioned backing up via onedrive done smoothly, but the issue at that my time is because eventhough I had used already onedrive back up to restore at that "signing in" stage I couldn't still sign in to WhatsApp not even only just the home page is not avail! #please wait......zzzzz... almost 1 week I'm waiting answers for the solution, I became not patience and come to this one time I tried signed in back without restoring (even I know the risk is losing all history chat and can not restore back in the future, did the WhatsApp mention it? yes. did I know ? yes. ) I ignored it just because desperately hoping I could sign in regardless losing the history chat, and finally still can not... Then using my old sim card phone set up in new phone hoping would help me to restore the history chat locally? I had done, but no effect at all, finally it's too late at the time I tried to sign in at desperado situation without restoring backup from onedrive I lost them. End Point.

Ah that sucks, if your new phone has a msd card slot maybe back up there going forward.

Also don't forget to back that msd card time to time on a pc or laptop or external hard drive.

@Ronald Sutandi, you just taught me about the danger of not restoring!! I did not know it would delete if you did not restore, lame!

So that's why a lot of my WhatsApp media deleted from my onedrive, cause i didn't want to sync it to this phone

add a contact to your contact list in People, because WhatsApp isn't finding a contact that's why it's stuck at Setting up WhatsApp..
