Why do I see tomorrows appointments instead of today's?

why do I see tomorrows appointments instead of todays?

the calendar tile on the start screen shows calendar information for tomorrow. I would like to see the appointments for today.

It shows your next appointment, whether that is today or tomorrow. If your next appointment isn't until after tomorrow, then it won't show anything. Timed appointments take priority over all day events.
