Why do my Lumia 1020 SMS give me the message Can?t send message. Try again even though I have service?

Lumia 1020 SMS "Can?t send message. Try again" even though I have service.

I have a brand new Lumia 1020 device and ever since I did the software update (it occured before, but less frequently) I cannot send text messages anymore, it says "can?t send message try again". I tried my card in another phone and it worked perfectly, so it is definitely the phone. I also checked date and time zone and the Sim center number, it is all correct. Nokia does not know what to do so I was wondering whether someone can help! Thanks

Did you perhaps try a different SIM for the phone? Lol at this point, we should just try everything!

Do you have text messaging backup turned on by any chance?
