why does my phone has a blank screen

ihave a microsft phone 535 its a month old now afew days ago i received a cal and after sometime the screen went blank now it only shows the data connection date and the menu what could be the problem

This might sound silly but have you tried pinning something from the app list. Which I presume what you mean by "menu". As your issue sounds like some how all your tiles got un pinned.

However it could be something else entirely.
