Windows Central Question

My Surface 3 mutes my itunes about 3 seconds after it times out and goes to sleep.

I could alter my settings and change my sleep timeout to say 15min but its handy having it in sleep mode as it saves power. is there a way you can keep music playing while the surface has timed out!?

Only WinRT apps can take advantage of Connected Standby in Windows 8. I believe that remains true in Windows 10, though I'm not completely sure.

I don't know if surface 3 supports that. A slight workaround is to make only the screen turn off while the pc is on. You can change thing in the power options.

Unfortunately, the music will only continue if you're playing music from a MUI Windows app. Desktop apps (iTunes or other x32's) will be cut off when the device enters sleep. It's all in the code. MUI apps must conform to CS, but legacy software was written before and doesn't.

Is your music bought from iTunes or not? If not, play the with Groove and you should be able to go to sleep mode while playing.
