Why doesn't my screen indicate a new text message has arrived?

screen doesn't indicate new text message has arrived

When a new text message comes, the ringer does sound, but a notification icon does not appear on the screen. The icon did appear in the past. Can this be reset?

Go into the notifications+actions settings and find Messaging. Make sure "Show in action centre" and "Show banner alerts" are turned on.

If you actually want an icon on the lock screen then go into the lock screen settings and choose Messaging for one of the 5 quick status apps.

Try this....go to settings then privacy then background app n check there the messaging+skype is on/off..,if its off make it on
