Why is my twitter app give me multiple notification for the same notification?

twitter app notification problems?

Not sure if this is happening to anyone else but lately my official Twitter app gives me triple and quadruple notifications anytime one of the accounts I''m following tweets. They all show up multiple times in both a toast message and in the action center as a banner. Any ideas whats causing this and how to fix? The twitter app has always been a little wonky but this just makes it kinda unusable.

This has been discussed a lot on here with many people getting the same problem.
Can't remember if there is a definite fix. For me uninstalling and reinstalling worked for about a day. And turning off notifications in the app didn't work either.

Anyone else?

I agree with Rick. You can try uninstalling/reinstalling or try using tweetium.

I'm up to 8 notifications for every tweet. I'm uninstalling this POS until twitter issues an update. I emailed twitter tech support a week ago and never got a response. This is BS!

Yes even I'm getting duplicate notifications for the same tweet tweeted by the person I follow. There wan't any recent update by Twitter for the WP app. It started giving this problem all of a sudden so even I'm clueless as to what is wrong. I tried a soft reset but it doesn't solve the issue.

EDIT : Joe Belfiore just tweeted this. See if it fixes the issue.

Phone stuff: if you're getting multiple twitter notifications, try relaunching the app. That *should* fix it...

I've tried quite a few things and the thing I have settled on was to turn off the notifications in the Notification center and just check the live tile. If it shows a number, then I will check the Twitter app.
