Why my Lumia 535 is not charging?

My Lumia 535 is dead.It was perfectly alright yesterday night.The battery died and since morning I have been unable to turn it on.I have put it on charge for hours but the phone remains dead and no sign of charging.Please help me out.

Put it in the freezer for about an hour or two then try again.
