Why won't my 735 power off when charging?

735 will not power off when charging

Hi,

When I charge my phone in the evening I will return it off and put it on charge (I've even tried putting it on charge and then turning it off) but within minutes it turns itself back on! I'll then power down again and minutes later it's on again. I don't understand why this is happening???

That is normal. All Lumias will power on whilst charging. If you don't want to get notifications, you may use Cortana Quiet Hours to keep the device silent during the evening. Quiet hours and Cortana on Windows Phone | Windows Phone How-to (United States)

My 928, and Icon do this as well. I do not believe it is a bug or a problem with your device. Most likely its just an internal and permanent setting in the OS, and it simply cannot be changed by the user(I've never found an option to change the behavior). Every operating system for Windows Phone from 7-8.1 has kept the phone on when charging.

I actually recall hearing it's because the battery reacts better when the device is on while charging rather than being off, not sure the exact science behind it though.
