Why won't my drivers update manually through device manager?

Hey Everyone,

I'm using a PC running Windows 10 with the latest updates (July 6th, 2020). My XBOX 360 wireless controller stopped working. When I try to update the drivers for my XBOX 360 wireless controller receiver, the driver doesn't update. I've tried selecting a driver manually by using the browse my PC option and I've tried to update it automatically. The receiver registers as an unknown device before and after I take these steps. Unplugging and plugging back in the receiver doesn't fix the issue.

Did you try completely uninstalling the driver, restarting, then reinstalling?
