Why won't my laptop boot up after the last Windows 10 update?

[Windows Central Question]

I have a dell Inspiron 11 3000 with windows 10 preview and after the last update wil not boot up, I turn it on and it just sits there with the web cam/start light in, nothing...is there a way to start this? Safe mode? Bypass?

Hit F8 during the reboot (before the post beep) to bring up the boot menu. (just keep tapping the F8 key when the machine restarts if you're not sure when) then, try safe mode or "last known working configuration".

Hi tried that, but will again, since it's, I think I have to hold the f button to do that with the keyboard..but will try again, think I tried f8 and 12

As soon as laptop starts n u see ur laptops logo (dell/hp/asus...) hit F8 and that will take you into advanced reset option of the is where you can reset your OS and I advice you to do that. I'm telling you this coz my 8 yr old laptop running fine on Win10 and I have installed SQL and SQL developer also.

Well, I did though it didn't go to the usual restore screen it took me to a dell diagonstic screen and went thru a series of test, all tested fine, I restarted and win 10 booted, so weird, idk why it didn't take me to system restore, but working now

Please if you could help. I did what you advised here but it won't accept neither pressing F8 nor pressing windows key. Even when it goes to my account ti enter password it doesn't accept it or even write the password. I can't even access the shut down icon to press shift + restart. Any suggestions please

I have the same problem....happened after this win 10 patch/update. I am unable to get into any boot or recovery otions....it freezes at the go logo screen....any suggestions?

Mine does the same thing. It won't go past that. I've turned it off and let it set for awhile before turning it back on. The F8 button won't work
