Why won't Word work now that I've downloaded Windows 10?

Had Windows 7 with Office 13. Downloaded Windows 10 and while Word opened, Excel and Outlook would not. Downloaded Service Pack 1. Now Outlook and Excel and Powerpoint work, but I can't even open Word. Please provide instructions on how to fix Word in layman's terms. Windows 10 is working, but I find it very difficult to figure out where I need to go to fix things. BTW, I am not using One Note and don't wish to.

click start
type control panel
once you're in control panel, look for programs, uninstall programs
search for microsoft office
click on it and select the repair option
follow the instructions for repairing your office
