Wifi and Static IP

What's the deal here? Are MS actually going to enable this for us or not? How am I supposed to connect to a network that has DHCP disabled?

Seems a VERY ODD decision considering even iOS allows it's users to set a static IP.

I am on 8.1 and I have the option to set a static IP. I see it at the bottom of the Wi Fi settings screen.

it seems the Static IP button is for the devices who have Official 8.1 (Not Preview for Developers)
Did any one notice that " Static WiFi " button in WiFi settings?
I have this option in 630 UAE
