WiFi, fail?

Hi all, i have the Lumia 820 and mobile data is used an awful lot (2 days and have already used 200MB) even though most of it was whilst i was connected to my virgin fibre bb WiFi.... Any ideas why or is the 820 a downgrade from the 800 in terms of wifi vs mobile data? Love the phone just i have wifi for a reason

Do you have keep WiFi alive on in the advanced network settings?

Do you have the Black update installed?. My 820 after the Black update refuses to stay connected to the internet even though my WiFi connection is active. Seems to me that there may be a software bug.

I have keep WiFi alive on and o have not updated yet, still needs EE approval

I have seen this problem on my wife's 820 on O2, my 920 on EE and my nephew's 1020 on TalkTalk since the Black update. Before the update the wifi would be connected without the need to check the 'keep alive' checkbox so it definitely is a bug. If you restart the phone it sorts itself out and if i remember correctly, putting wifi off then on is a bit hit or miss. I would hope that MS class this as a critical bug seeing as people may be battering through their data without their knowledge and some operators will just hit you with a large bill rather than restrict you until you buy more
