Will leaving my surface 3 in the docking station harm my battery?

I am thinking of getting a docking station for my Surface 3 since my desktop computer has died. My concern is that if I leave my Surface in the docking station for days on end it will end up harming the battery so when I want to use it as a tablet, I wont have very good battery life.

Has anyone used their surface in the dock for a long time and if so have you noticed any difference on battery life?

I can't imagine it will, I leave my laptop plugged in 24/7 but when I need to go on battery only, it seems to last as long as it did over a year ago when I bought it.

I haven't noticed any issues, but I do try and let mine run down a bit, every so often. Only very rarely do I completely drain it dead (at least on purpose ). It's a Li-on, so as long as you don't store it for long periods while completely discharged, you should be fine.
