Will Nokia become the only WP OEM?

If you're HTC or Samsung, what can you really do right now? They've already released phones featuring the most powerful hardware supported by WP8 up to this point, and solid midrange phones as well. They can't put out WP versions of their current Android flagships until Microsoft gets off its **** and upgrades the hardware support so I don't know what exactly people expect them to do.

Solid stinking point. MS moves.slower then the average tech company, don't they?

Release a new phone each week like Nokia which is stupid because showing support for an OS is more than just pushing out new phones. I like how HTC and Samsung have done things, release two new phones and support them. Nokia has everything to lose as they are betting the farm on Windows Phone so they can't allow it to fail, that's where HTC and Samsung differ, they support Android as well which means that if Windows Phone fails they don't have to worry.

...in the same respect, if Android fails both HTC and Samsung would have them worry, even if they make it seem otherwise.

Correct up to a point. Thing is Nokia has managed to release 2 new variants of its flagship device along with several other mid to low end devices. Along with new apps and updates that are coming that has kept the buzz for Nokia's WP devices going. Samsung and HTC could do something similar but they choose not to. Dont just need the latest and greatest hardware to create something new with their WP devices.

But yes, MS is as slow as a snail in a traffic jam on a treacle highway in updating WP.

I think instead of becoming the only OEM it should just buy WP off Microsoft and take it to the level where it needs to be. MS has done jack**** with this OS, I'm so glad I got at least a Nokia because they seem to be the only company actually doing anything to make it better

I totally agree, but either way they have something to fall back on, in this case Windows Phone, whereas Nokia doesn't.

I love windows phone, but I agree with the previous posts, MS really needs to move faster with wp. One gripe I've always had about MS is that they will put artificial limitations on things for seemingly no reason, like in windows 7 64 bit, I think the max amount of RAM supported is supposed to be 128GB. Not that 99% of W7 users would ever need that much, but a 64 bit OS can support SOOOOO much more than that, its almost like, why put a limit when there's no need to really.... Same with windows phone, why didn't they think ahead for WP8 that companies may have wanted 1080p screens: sure, you can't tell the difference between a 1080 or 720 screen on a 4-5" phone, but now that most manufactures are using those panels anyways, they can't use them to build higher spec windows phones...
