Will we ever get a high spec WP8 phone with a 4 inch screen?

The only Windows Phones with 4 inch screen or less are the HTC 8S and the Lumia 620 (I think). I'm not a fan of screen any bigger than 4 inches. I love my 620 but I really want a high spec phone. Do you think there's any chance a phone of such sort will ever be available? Phone screens just keep getting bigger and bigger. I don't think it will ever happen. The only high end phone I can think of with a 4 inch screen is the iPhone. I'm hoping that Nokia will release something with a smaller screen with WP8.1, but it probably will be aimed at the low end of the market :(
Lose the Windows Phone and get an HP Veer 4G. It has a 2.6 inch display and a slide out keyboard

they need to just keep shrinking the 6xx series and keep the specs the same or better. The 525 utterly failed it for me by not have a FFC.....that could have been the E71 of this era had it got a FFC.

No FFC? Then it's definitely a step down from the 822 I have right now, which I'll probably hang on to for a while.

But with the 520/521 being the top selling Windows Phone, it definitely didn't fail. We need to realize that we are not the only ones who buy phones.

Sadly true a big portion of the market doesnt buy flagship/expensive phones...this means we will continue to more variants of the 52x...like the 526, 527....ugh =(

I said it failed it FOR ME. I don't really care what others think, I'm the one buying my phone. I didn't get a 520 because of no FFC and I won't get a 525 either. They could spend the few bucks for the 1GB of RAM but they couldn't spare a buck or two for the FFC.

I wasn't saying that it didn't fail for you, or that anything about your statement is wrong. I've said many times that no one phone will ever meet everyone's needs, and you are a perfect example of that. This phone doesn't meet your needs. I'm simply pointing out that the phone is a success because many people DO see this phone as what they need. Given that, we are sure to see more of them.

And even though Nokia has done a good job of covering the entire spectrum, there are still going to be people who don't like this feature or wish that feature was on this other phone. There isn't a way to satisfy 100% of the population unless you go to the point of making phones modular. Buy this size screen that I like, with this processor, and so forth, adding it all up like a cart full of groceries, as many laptop makers do - and even they don't offer all of the options that some people would want. We live in an imperfect world, and until it is perfected, there will always be someone disappointed. At this point, it appears that it will be those of us who don't want a six inch screen but do want all the rest of the bells and whistles.

phone bezels, for the most part, are shrinking

they can make 5" phones almost no bigger than a few generations ago 4.5" phones.

take say the Galaxy Nexus, 4.6" screen, 135.5 x 67.9mm in size
vs. the Nexus 5, 5" screen, 5" screen, 137.9 x 69.2mm in size

9% more screen but only 3% more phone.

or the Galaxy S with a 4" screen, 123 x 64.2mm in size
vs the Galaxy S4 with a 5" screen, 136.6 x 69.8mm in size

25% more screen but only 20% more phone, screens are bigger but phones are smaller relative to the screen, and its only getting better.

not too mention, personally, once I got a 4.7" screen, I could never get back to a sub 4" screen, like an iphone 4s, or Lumia 800. Just wayyy to small. Then again, I could not imagine using a Note, 6" screen or so. They just look silly in your hand. Personally 5" max for me. Thin thin bezel makes it the size of a 4.5" phone, and I am good.

that's why I keep advocating for a 3" WVGA phone. Toshiba made a WVGA 3" Windows Mobile device years ago. However, it was surrounded by buttons, bezels, and all kinds of crap. Todays mfr processes can slim that thing up considerably.

I don't think it is going to happen anytime soon. Palm/HP tried with the Veer, and IMO, it would have flopped even as far as webOS devices were concerned. Small devices will probably come back around when wearable tech comes into its own. If there is less of a reason to physically use the phone, then why waste time having a big screen on it.

Man, i just tested out a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini...i love the size of that phone. the HTC One Mini is also nice. Really wish more of these phone sizes with high specs were released on WP.
