Win8.1 & WP8.1

I must admit, being a big fan of both OS's. The one thing I would love to see and have is the ability to send IM's to my WP or to Win 8.1 machines. Without having to use Facebook messaging. Having something more direct. Or that perhaps something is already out there and I'm missing it.

Messaging on Skype isn't ideal, but it's a cross-platform option.

True the problem is that not everyone uses it. Thing is this, if I would to send a message to a coworker who happens to be using another OS I just use WP messaging. Goes to any phone. But when at one's desktop -laptop there is no way to message from phone to desktop.

I use viber. Granted both parties need to be using it but it is available on Android, IOs, and windows as both app and download programme. All sync perfectly ( for me anyway ). It is free to download and use.

Telegram works on PC, and syncs with my 920.... problem is my contacts don't use it
