Is it possible or not to edit word documents without Office 365 in Windows 10 Mobile? I am unable to edit my document in Windows 10 mobile technical preview because it says you need office 365 to edit documents. Would there be Office app for Windows 10 Mobile or not?

Nobody trying to edit documents in Word preview app in Windows 10 mobile, I think so nobody answered my question.

I just checked I'm able to edit documents in word and I don't have office 365, is the doc yours if not maybe it's locked to stop editing just a thought or you have it locked?

Have you edited document in word online, or in offline mode? I was able to edit documents in word online but not in offline mode in Windows 10 mobile TP as in Windows Phone 8.1

I am do it on my phone, windows 10 mobile build 10512 . I open up the app pick the doc and open it edit from there. I have my docs saved in OneDrive.

Apparently there was a bug where some installs would require Office 365 sign in. I ran into this as well. Uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them (there goes another 300MB..) fixed it for me.
Haven't heard of that one but it's great to know, so it's working ok with all of your office now? OneNote, word, Excel and so on. You know there was a free trial available for office 365 if you wanted to check it out.

In your app list the name for the office apps should be listed as (word preview) (Excel preview) (power point preview) one note is just one note. If not delete them and reinstall.

I too face the same problem.I can't create or edit new documents or presentations . They asks for office365 subscriptions
