If I run defrag (or other things) windows thinks that my BarraCuda 2TD (ST2000DM008-2FR102 ) HDD is an SSD. I wrote to Seagate and at 1st they made me replace it with a new one. That did nothing. They also told me to run ''winsat formal'' (I don't know how they thought this would do anything) and finally they said it is a Windows problem?
Is it?
I am wondering how we can fix this problem if it is indeed a Windows problem. Obviously if it is a HDD it can be (and should be defragment and if an SSD to optimize it. There is a reason why these 2 processes are not the same and it bothers me to have to use one system whereby it is the other system that needs to be used.
Any advice would be appreciated.
