Windows keeps shutting down as soon as I restart it

Everytime I try to turn my surface on it doesn't seem to work. I know it's still possibly working due to the fact that it occasionally shows the surface icon and that it's loading but it then shuts off after it shows it. They only way I know it's on sometimes is that the keyboard lights up. Anyone know how to fix it or if it's just broken? I've had it for 7 months.
