I think there is a possibility that v might get the update in the next 19-20 hours. If Joe mentioned that the update will roll out in first part of April, he might've said to relate to the tym around now, bcoz if it were to come out around 14th as they say, it would no more longer be the "First" part of April, as dividing anything into two parts is not helpful. That's why business is divided into four quarters a year.
Yet these are my thoughts and its not a troll this tym.
I am a new here, I am just trying to understand, did all of you pay the fee to be registered as a developer, in order to receive the early update?
All you need to know about the Windows Phone 8.1 'Preview for Developers' | Windows Phone Central
And guys, there is absolutely NOTHING indicating we'll get the update today...or tomorrow...or saturday...or sunday. Geesh. The only indication we have is "sometime in April". It's great that everyone is excited but the misinformation is aggravating.
Since Build Belfiore repeatedly said the preview will be released in the "first part of April". NOT sometime in April. He also said that his comments on that are vague because they don't have a definite date yet. So you can assume that the planned release date is at least a few days BEFORE the end of the "first part of April" (so they have a few days left in case things take longer than planned).
Belfiore's comments are the only official source we have, and from those we can assume, that: The planned release date is at least a few days before April 15th (which technically is the last day of the first "part" of the month), and that any day later than 15th is unlikely.
Since the 12th and 13th are weekend, there are only a few possibilities left: Today, tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday.
Monday and Tuesday seem unlikely for the reasons I explained above. That leaves us with Today or tomorrow.
Besides that, today or tomorrow would make a lot of sense. Today was reported to be the planned release date before they came up with the 14th. According to a leaked mail from MS, bug fixing was planned to be finished by the 8th. And at a Build session, a Cortana engineer said you'll be able to play with the new feature "next week" (which is this week).
i hate to spoil the party, but i'm guessing it will not come out today (14th seems more likely).
"how?" you ask? well, knowing the past work, i'm guessing before the preview rolls out, MS would update the windows phone 8 update changelog on their site, which they haven't.
also they got no legit motive in teasing people by giving them a "rough estimate" of the preview rolls out. the only reason (i feel) they haven't given news is that it really needs work and it won't be immediate.
so that's what.
although i can't tell you how happy i'd be to be proven wrong, but then false hopes mostly hurt, don't they?
